A Little Yard Work

Fall is finally here and we've had lots of help getting our yard ready for next spring. Jason's parents and younger brothers came over to help us with a few projects. We pulled out all a bunch of weeds, took down a fence, and put in fertilizer to help the ground. It was lots of work, but looks super great now!

Norah trimming up the bush.

Terry spreading...well, poo.

Jordyn and her safety goggles. Funny kid!

Finished project...looking good!

Trimmed bush.

Our cute house!

We really appreciate all the help that Jason's parents gave us with this little project. They even told us which bulbs to buy so that next spring our yard will have lots of pretty flowers. We have such an awesome family. We're pretty spoiled!

Our New House

We are so excited to announce that we are in our new house and all settled in. It all started about three weeks ago when my sister, Julie, helped me start packing. Thursday night Jason's family and Jesse, my brother-in-law, came up to Midvale to help us load up the trailer. We unloaded everything Friday morning and by Saturday night every box was empty and all our stuff was put away.

We had so much help. Both of our families were really great to help us unpack things and watch Jordyn for us while we were working. We hope that they all know how much we appreciate all that they do for us.

Jason spoiled me with new couches! I was so excited and they look so great in our family room. Our new fridge will be delivered on Tuesday this week and that's all we need. The house is so great. It has three bedrooms and one bathroom. I love having lots of windows...and so does Jordyn. The window in the family room is low enough that she can look out and wave at everyone she sees.

We have lots of work to do in the yard, but I'm excited to work on that next spring....right now I'm just glad to be unpacked and "home". We love the neighborhood and ward and really feel like we are where Heavenly Father wants us to be right now.

Mr. Potato Head

Tonight we played with Mr. Potato Head. Jordyn is, of course, the smartest kid in the world. She knows all about where her eyes are, nose, mouth, teeth, ears, and hair. She is so much fun, and learning new things everyday. We love asking her to bring us the pieces and then helping her put them in. She especially loves the glasses.

In other Jordyn updates....last week we had Chinese food with Grandma and Grandpa Halladay, Great Grandpa Halladay, Aunt Julie, Uncle Jesse, and Aunt Jaymie. Jordyn LOVES the noodles. She was eating a ton. She even tried taking my plate of food. What a fun night!

Sunday Fun

We stayed home all day! It was wonderful! Here are a few pictures. The teeth are actually a Binky that Grandma Norah gave to Jordyn. We had to coat it with sugar to get her to leave it in her mouth. Silly kid. We took a little walk too, just to see the ducks in the pond.

I am not a baker!

Jason is always trying to get me to cook more often. I think this is proof that baking is not a talent of mine. I made these cookies today. I'm not sure if I missed an ingredient or what, but they do not taste good. They came out flat and very brown, even though I only cooked them for 9 minutes when the recipe calls for 12-15 minutes. If anyone has a fail proof recipe for chocolate chip cookies I'd love to give it a try. My goal is to make edible cookies, no matter how long it takes!

The funny part about making the cookies was Jordyn's reaction to the mixer. Every time I turned it on she would come running up to me, put her arms around my leg, and then cry until I turned it off. Funny girl! Maybe she doesn't like to cook either? Poor Jason, he'll never get a home cooked meal for the rest of his life.
