In Need Of Help

So, Steve and Megan are getting married on the 15th of August and Josh and Leslie are getting married on the 10th of October. It's officially time to start a diet. So, we ordered "Turbo Jam" and should be getting that this week. We switched to whole grain wheat bread. We've loaded the fridge with low fat yogurt, carrots, apples, and other nutritious things. (Now if we could get rid of the soda and the treat cupboard we'd really be looking good.)

ANYWAY, my problem is not about the diet. You see, I only have one pair of jeans. I've had them almost two years. I got them after I had Jordyn. They've been great, until now. They are all worn out and today I washed them after two weeks of not washing them (yuck!) and they now have holes in the bum. What do I do? Do I just live in the two pair of sweats I have for the next few weeks until I lose a little weight? Do I go buy new ones that hopefully won't fit in a few weeks? Do I try and get my mom to patch them? (I absolutely do not sew!!)

I don't think I could just go buy cheap jeans at Wal-Mart. I have to have jeans that fit right, and I don't mind paying a little more for jeans that will last a long time. Oh, and our anniversary is coming up next weekend and we're going on a mini vacation for a couple of nights. I'm pretty sure I can't wear my sweats the whole time...but hey, maybe I'll lose enough weight by next weekend that I wouldn't mind buying jeans. But really, I won't be able to loose as much as I'd like by next weekend.

AHHHHH! What should I do?

Um, I don't like shopping and I don't do it a lot, but I hafta say sometimes it's really worth it. For example, yesterday I almost didn't go to the big memorial day party because of how uncomfortable and awkward I feel. (I'm kinda ready to go into hiding). Then I remembered that I had a new shirt I could wear that is both comfortable and cute and I went to the party and had a great time.

So I guess my vote is to just buy another pair of jeans that fit comfortably right now. (or maybe you could patch the hole in your old favorites?)

Also, I think it's true that I don't eat as healthily when I'm lounging in sweats as I do when I get dressed.

Good luck. Have you tried Target? Sometimes I like their jeans and they don't cost very much.

I would try Ross or TJ Max. That's where I like to buy my jeans and you can get designer brands for a great price. Good luck!

I'm voting for two things: patch the old jeans and buy a new pair that fit comfortably now. Then, when you lose the weight, you will still have a couple of pairs of really loose comfy jeans. Plus you can always use them in the future after you have more kids and are in that weird "right after pregnancy" stage.

I have always been told no matter what weight you are you should always have clothes that fit and that make you feel great. No matter if you are going to diet or are dieting. So I would say that you should go buy a great pair to get you through you dieting until you are the size you want. (I have a hard time with this as well)

Just be careful with that stuff - usually it works as a quick fix but you end up ballooning when you stop. In weight loss, the tortoise wins! Anyway, off my soap box. I would probably buy a new pair. You deserve it! I know it's frustrating because you hope to be in a smaller size, but until you get there, get something that fits and is comfortable for you now.

I say go and buy a cute pair that makes you feel great! They say if you feel crapy, you're less likely to lose. I just joined Weight Watchers on-line and I really recommend it. It's only $65 for 3 months, which I think is very affordable. I've only been doing it for 2 weeks but I've already lost 4 lbs...which doesn't sound so great when I'm typing it, but it's better than nothing! Good luck!
