Eating Better, Trying To Anyway

Jason and I have been trying to make a "life style" change. I hate the word diet, and never stick to them, plus when it comes to chocolate or cheesecake I have ZERO willpower. And let's not even talk about what happens when the two things are put together.
.
We decided to try Bountiful Baskets. It's a produce co-op. I've heard great things about it. I've been an little nervous about it though. I'm not a fruit eater. I don't know why, I just don't like it.
For $16.50 we got all of this... ($15.00 for the produce and $1.50 "basket fee"). I'm really happy about all that we got. Especially the pineapple! I'm not sure what to do with the chilies or the kiwi or the Asian pears. I think Jason will be excited when he sees all of this.

Ooh Tommy loves pears - we just slice them into thin pieces and eat them that way. OOOORRR if we're feeling fancy, we slice them really thin (peel and everything) and warm them in a dry frying pan - drizzle a little honey or sprinkle with cinnamon if you want more flavor.

I eat a Kiwi on my cereal every morning, and Tommy loves to eat those plain too. Do your girls like fruit? They might try them and love them!

As for the chilis - that's a lot to use before they go bad, I'd dice them up and freeze them to use in fresh salsa or mix it in with spanish rice even throw in a little bit with your mac 'n cheese. Mmmmm Bountiful Baskets looks GOOD!

I love Bountiful Basket. Such a great deal for $15. Those Chilies you can cut in half, get the seeds out and freeze them. Then use them in salsa or enchiladas later.

Love Bountiful Baskets, too! I was excited about the squash today. It's Hazel's favorite with a little cinnamon. The chilis you can make into chili rellenos. But I just dice and freeze too for Mexican food and soups. The fruit tastes excellent in smoothies.

Wow, that's a great deal! Do they deliver in Provo or is it just your area?

We just started to get a basket! But I split it with my sister in law because I would never use it all! (Not a big fruit or veggie fan either)
