Constantly Learning

There have been many days in my life when I'm not sure what I'm doing... Not sure about the kind of mother I am. Wife. Friend. I wonder if I'm living up to all Heavenly Father wants me to be. Do I serve enough? Think of others enough? I sometimes have the desire to change, but lack the motivation. I'm constantly comparing myself to others. But today, I decided that's okay, because I want to be just like her.

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed some one's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." - Marjorie Pay Hinckley
.
And in case you ever wondered why I blog...
.
"To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many --now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." - President Gordon B. Hinckley.
